How to Assign Overtime & Dispute Approval Rules to Employees in Bulk
This video shows how administrators of Staffinc Suite can assign approval rules for overtime and dispute requests in bulk to employees. This is useful when you want to apply a standard approval procedure across many employees at once instead of doing it individually. However, it is also possible to assign approval rules for overtime & dispute requests by single editing via Edit Employee Details.
Step‑by‑Step Process
- Open the Employee List
Navigate to Employees → Employee List from the sidebar/menu. - Choose Bulk Assignment Option
In Employee List, locate the “Import” button or dropdown. - Select Bulk Assign Rules
From the Import options, choose Assign Attendance Data menu - Export Template to email address
To allow the system to provide a template to fill, please fill in your email address. The exported template will be sent to that email address. - Fill in the Template
In the downloaded template, include for each employee:- Employee ID
- Which Overtime Approval Rule ID they should get
- Which Dispute Approval Rule ID they should get
- Upload the Completed Template
Return to the bulk assignment interface, upload the filled template. - Review Upload Results
The system will process the file. It will show which rows succeeded and which rows failed. - Fix Any Errors
If there are failed rows, download the error report, correct the issues (e.g. missing employee IDs, invalid rule IDs), then re-upload if needed. - Confirm Assignment
After successful upload, the approval rules are applied to employees immediately. You can verify via the employee profile details.
