How to Create a Schedule Pattern

In this guide, you’ll learn how to create a new schedule pattern in the Staffinc Suite application. We’ll start from the Settings > Attendance > Schedule Pattern List page, create a 7-day cycle pattern with 5 working days and 2 days off, and confirm the creation by returning to the Schedule Pattern List page.

  1. Access the Settings - Attendance Page: From the Settings - Attendance page, locate the "Schedule Pattern" submenu in the mini navbar.
  2. Go to the Schedule Pattern List Page: You’re now on the Schedule Pattern List page, where existing patterns are listed. Click the "+ Create Schedule Pattern" button to start creating a new pattern.

Set Up the Schedule Pattern Info

  1. Start on the Create Schedule Pattern Page: You’re on the Create Schedule Pattern page. The Schedule Pattern Info section is blank, and the Config section is empty until the info is filled. Start by entering the pattern details.
  2. Enter the Pattern Name: In the Schedule Pattern Info section, enter a name for your schedule pattern, such as "Standard Week Shift," in the Pattern Name field.
  3. Choose the Number of Cycling Days: Select the number of cycling days, such as "7 days," to define the pattern’s cycle length.
  4. Select the Starting Date: Choose a starting date, such as March 31, 2025. Only present or future dates can be selected.
  5. Check the Update Button State: The "Update" button is disabled because all fields in the Schedule Pattern Info section are mandatory. Fill in all details to enable it.
  6. Generate the Configuration: With all mandatory fields filled, the "Update" button is now enabled. Click to generate the schedule pattern configuration.

Configure the Schedule Pattern

  1. View the Generated Config Section: The Schedule Pattern Config section is now generated with 7 days, starting from March 31, 2025 (Monday). The day names and dates (e.g., March 31 to April 6, 2025) are auto-filled based on your inputs.
  2. Set Schedule Type for Working Days (Days 1–5): For the first 5 days (Monday to Friday, March 31 to April 4, 2025), set the Schedule Type to "Working Schedule" for each day to define working days.
  3. Select Master Schedule for Working Days (Days 1–5): After setting the Schedule Type, select a master schedule like "Morning Shift: 09:00–17:00" for each of the 5 working days to specify the working hours.
  4. Set Schedule Type for Day-Off Days (Days 6–7): For the last 2 days (Saturday and Sunday, April 5 to April 6, 2025), set the Schedule Type to "Day-off/Holiday" for each day to define non-working days.
  5. Select Master Schedule for Day-Off Days (Days 6–7): After setting the Schedule Type, select a master schedule like "Day-Off" for each of the 2 day-off days to confirm the day-off status.

Create the Schedule Pattern

  1. Check the Create Button State: The "Create" button is disabled because all Schedule Type and Master Schedule fields in the Config section are mandatory. Fill in all details to enable it.
  2. Submit the Schedule Pattern: With all fields filled, the "Create" button is now enabled. Click to create the schedule pattern.

Confirm the Creation

  • Return to the Schedule Pattern List Page: After successful creation, you’ll be redirected to the Schedule Pattern List page. A success message will confirm: "Success! Your schedule pattern has been created and added to the list with a 7-day cycle, including 5 working days and 2 days off." The newly created pattern, "Standard Week Shift," will be visible in the list.
