How to Do Approval for Pending Overtime Requests
This guide walks you through how to approve pending overtime requests within the Staffinc Suite platform. Whether you are an HR admin or supervisor, knowing how to manage and approve overtime ensures efficient workforce management and accurate payroll processing.
You’ll also learn how the approval process may follow a multi-layer approval logic, where overtime needs to pass through more than one approver.
Step-by-Step Process
Follow these steps to approve pending overtime:
- Login to your Staffinc Suite account using Admin or Super Admin access.
- On the left-hand menu, click on Pending Approval under the Attendances section.
- In the Pending Approval view, navigate to the Overtime tab at the top (next to Leave and Dispute).
- A list of pending overtime requests will be displayed. You will see:
- Employee name
- Overtime date
- Overtime Period
- Action buttons (View Detail)
- Click “View Detail” next to any request to open its full information.
- In the detail view, verify the following:
- Overtime date and time
- Requested duration
- Reason for overtime
- Any attachments provided
- Who submitted the request
- After reviewing the request, take action by clicking the green checkmark (✔) to approve or the red cross (✖) to reject.
- Some overtime approvals may need to go through multiple layers of approval depending on your organization’s policy. If you are the first approver, your approval will send it to the next approver in line.
Note on Approval Layers
Staffinc Suite supports a multi-level approval workflow. This means:
- Overtime approval might not be final after the first layer.
- Each layer must approve before it is considered fully approved.
