How to Edit Check-in & Check-out Time

This video demonstrates how admins can edit the Check-in (CI) and Check-out (CO) data — also known as CICO — in Staffinc Suite. Admins can modify check-in or check-out times for any attendance record, as well as the corresponding time zones. You’ll also learn how the system automatically recalculates total working hours after any update.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Login to Staffinc Suite
Start by logging in to your Staffinc Suite admin account.
  2. Open the Attendance Details Page
Go to the Attendance Details page where you can view detailed attendance data for an employee.
  3. Trigger Edit on Check-in/Check-out Data
Click on the Edit option for the check-in or check-out section you wish to update.
  4. Change Check-in & Check-out Information
    • Update the Check-in Time and Check-in Timezone (CI Timezone) as needed.
    • Adjust the Check-out Time and Check-out Timezone (CO Timezone).
    • The system allows you to change the Check-in Date to a different date from the scheduled attendance date.
    • However, the Check-out Date can only differ by a maximum of one day from the check-in date — meaning there cannot be a multi-day gap (e.g., 5 days) between check-in and check-out within the same attendance record.
  5. Review Updated CICO Times
After saving your changes, you will see the updated Check-in and Check-out times reflected in the Attendance Details page.
The system will automatically recalculate the total working hours based on the new CICO data.
  6. Check Activity Log
Open the Activity Log to view the detailed record of the CICO changes, including who made the edits and when.

Key Information:

  • If an employee’s attendance status is “Waiting for Check-in” and the admin manually edits the Check-in (CI) time, then when the employee later checks in via Staffinc Work, the Staffinc Work check-in timestamp will overwrite the manually entered CI time.
  • The system restricts the Check-out Date to a maximum of one day from the check-in date — longer gaps (e.g., 5 days) are not allowed within a single attendance record.

By understanding how to edit check-in and check-out data, admins can ensure accurate attendance tracking and working hour calculations. This feature is particularly useful for correcting errors in time logs, ensuring fair and precise payroll and attendance reporting within Staffinc Suite.
