How to Edit & Delete Approval Rules
This video explains how admins can edit or delete an existing Approval Rule configuration in Staffinc Suite. Approval Rules manage the approval process for requests such as leave, overtime, or disputes. When editing, you can modify approval layers or approvers. When deleting, the system ensures that only unused rules (with no pending requests) can be removed.
Step-by-Step Guide
Edit Approval Rules
- Login to your Staffinc Suite account.
- Go to Settings → Attendance → Approval Rules.
- Choose the existing Approval Rule you want to edit.
- Modify the approval layers by adding or removing layers, or by changing the approver(s) in any layer.
- Click Save.
- A confirmation modal will appear, notifying that if there are any pending agent requests (leave, overtime, dispute) using this rule, their approval progress will be reset to layer 1 and start over based on the new configuration.
- Confirm and Save the changes.
Delete Approval Rules
- Return to the Approval Rules list page.
- Select the Approval Rule you wish to delete and open their Edit page.
- Click Delete.
- A confirmation modal will appear, reminding that deletion is only possible if there are no pending requests using this rule.
- Confirm the deletion and return to the list page.
Key Information
- All pending requests using this approval rule will be reset to layer 1 (to be approved again from the start) if there is at least one pending agent request that uses this approval rule.
- Users can only delete approval rules that have no remaining pending requests.
